BFP Recruitment 2026: Fire Officer I Qualifications, Requirements and How to Apply

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) hires Fire Officer 1 (FO1) through recruitment cycles announced by its national and regional offices. The BFP is under the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and is in charge of fire prevention and suppression nationwide.

Recruitment status

The BFP’s Recruitment Cycle 2026-01 used the online e-HIRE registration, which closed on July 20, 2026. As of October 30, 2026, there is no newer FO1 cycle that we have seen. Watch the official BFP and BFP regional Facebook pages for the next one.

FO1 qualifications

• Filipino citizen of good moral character
• 21 to 30 years old
• At least 1.57 m (5’2″) for males and 1.52 m (5’0″) for females
• Weight not more or less than 5 kg from the standard weight for your height, age and sex
• Bachelor’s degree
• Second level eligibility: RA 1080, CS Professional, PD 907, Fire Officer Examination, or MARINA
• Passed the psychological, drug and physical tests
• Not dishonorably discharged or dismissed for cause, and not convicted of a crime involving moral turpitude

Applicants with age or height deficiency need an approved Certificate of Waiver. Height and age waivers are automatic for indigenous cultural communities under RA 11549. See our BFP height and age waiver guide.

Note: The CSC ended the Fire Officer Examination after its June 7, 2026 run. Past FOE passers keep their eligibility for life. Read Fire Officer Exam discontinued.

How the 2026 application worked

1. Visit the nearest fire station for initial screening, BMI check and preliminary document evaluation.
2. If you pass, you get a Fire Station Certification.
3. Register online within the application period using the official QR code posted by the BFP Recruitment and Selection Section.
4. Upload your required documents, including a notarized, computerized Personal Data Sheet (CS Form No. 212) with a recent passport-size photo, and your Certificate of Waiver if applicable.
5. Keep hard copies of all documents ready. You must pass all screening stages under the BFP Merit Selection Plan.

Passing all stages does not guarantee appointment. It still depends on available quotas.

Documents to prepare

Requirements may vary per region. Commonly asked documents include:

• Application letter addressed to the Regional Director, with the position applied for
• Notarized Personal Data Sheet and Work Experience Sheet
• Authenticated Transcript of Records and diploma
• Authenticated certificate of eligibility or PRC board rating
• Certificate of Waiver (if needed)
• PSA birth certificate, and PSA marriage certificate if married
• Barangay, mayor’s, court, police and NBI clearances
• PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG and BIR TIN documents
• Service record and latest performance rating (for former government employees)

FO1 salary in 2026

Under Executive Order No. 107 (s. 2025), a Fire Officer 1 receives a monthly base pay of ₱31,151 in 2026, plus allowances such as subsistence allowance of ₱350 per day. See the base pay schedule of military and uniformed personnel.
