BJMP Recruitment 2025: Be a Jail Officer 1

The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) is an agency connected with the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG). It is mandated by law to supervise and control the operation of all district, city, and municipal jails nationwide.

The BJMP opens applications for those interested in being a part of their team as Jail Officers, this is your chance to pursue a secure job in the government at the same time help people behind bars to become better persons.

JO1 Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications for applicants before securing an appointment as a Jail Officer 1 in the BJMP:

  • Must be a Filipino citizen with good moral character;
  • Passed the drug test, Neuro-Psychiatric, and medical examinations;
  • Fit for training, Physically and mentally ;
  • A bachelor’s degree holder.
  • Must have passed the  or must possess a 2nd-Level Eligibility ( RA 1080, CSC-Professional, P.D. No. 907);
  • No records of being dishonorably discharged from any government position or private employment;
  • He or she must not have been convicted by final judgment of an offense or crime involving moral turpitude;
  • A height of at least 1.57 m for males and 1.52 m for females height and, respectively*;
  • Must weigh no more or less than five kilograms (5kgs) from the standard weight corresponding to his/her height, age, and sex.
  • Not less than 21 nor more than 30 years old*;

*Age and height waivers will be automatically granted to applicants belonging to cultural communities as certified by NCIP or NCMF.

 Jail Officer 1 Requirements

  1. Fully accomplished Personal Data Sheet (PDS) with a recent passport-sized picture (CS Form No. 212, Revised 2017).
  2. Photocopy of Birth Certificate issued by the PSA.
  3. Transcript of Records and Diploma ( Authenticated ).
  4. Authenticated Certificate of Eligibility or Board Rating (w/ photocopy of PRC ID).
  5. A copy of the Marriage Certificate (PSA) – for married applicants.
  6. Photocopy of the following: NBI Clearance, Police Clearance, and Barangay Clearance.
  7. Photocopies of Court clearances (Office of the Prosecutor, MTC, and RTC).
  8. Photocopy of PNP Directorate for Intelligence Clearance
  9. Photocopy of NCIP/NCMF Certificate (if necessary).

*Requirements may vary per region, check with your regional office.

BJMP JO1 Salary and Benefits

As a Jail Officer 1 in BJMP, you will receive a base pay of P29,668 per month (salary grade 10) with a Gross monthly salary of P37,448. Moreover, you shall receive an allowance, medical and dental benefits, longevity pay, etc. A hazard pay of P540 a month is also given.
