Civil Service Exam 2023
The CSC exam 2023 Batch 1 is scheduled for March 26, 2023. The application period is from December 22, 2022, until January 25, 2023. While the target release of Test Results is on May 25, 2023. Refer to the table below for the complete details.
The Second Batch of the Civil Service Exam is set on August 20, 2023. The start of application is on May 22, 2023, until June 21, 2023. The expected release of results is on November 3, 2023.

Reminder:
It is important to apply as early as possible on the said opening of the application. Don’t wait for the deadline as the CSC accepts on a first-come, first-serve basis. Meaning slots may be filled before the deadline.
Qualifications
To be qualified to take the exam one must be a Filipino Citizen, and at least 18 years old at the filing of the application. Applicants should be of good moral character, and must not be discharged from military police or dismissed from any civilian position in the government.
Lastly, you must not have taken the same level of career service exam within three months from the last examination.
Note: You can apply regardless of your educational attainment as long as you meet the qualifications above.
You are exempted to take the Civil Service Exam if you fall into these categories.
Civil Service Exam Requirements
Here are the documentary requirements you must submit when filing for the CSC exam:
- A duly-accomplished application form (CS FORM No. 100 Revised September 2016). The Application Form may be printed using legal-sized bond paper. Don’t put your signature and right thumb mark as these will be done in the presence of a CSC representative/ processor during the filing of the application.
- Four (4) pcs. passport-size pictures with a dimension of 4.5 cm x 3.5 cm or 1.78 x 1.38 inches.
It should be taken within the last 3 months prior to the filing of the application. Moreover, the photo must be colored on a white background with a standard close-up shot (from shoulder level up with the head and face occupying at least 80% of the picture and with the name tag positioned at approximately 1 inch or 2.54 cm below the chin).
It is important that the picture is printed on good-quality photo paper. Additionally, it must be in the bare face with no eyeglasses, colored contact lenses, or any accessories that may cover the facial features (facial features not computer-enhanced). Refer to the photo below.

- Original and photocopy of CSC List of Accepted ID’s, which is preferably valid (not expired on the date of filing of application).
If your only available ID does not contain your birth date, submit a copy of your NSO or PSA Birth Certificate.
- Prepare an examination fee of Php 500.00.
Filing of Application
Prepare the necessary requirements listed above. Then go personally to the CSC Regional Office where you will intend to take the exam. Check the Civil Service Commission Office Directory to find the CSC Office near your area.
You should submit a COMPLETE set of application documentary requirements to the CSC Regional/Field Office. Wear Proper attire during the filing of an application. They won’t allow SLEEVELESS SHIRT/BLOUSE, SHORTS/SHORT PANTS, and SLIPPERS.
Can you change or transfer your testing center?
In certain deserving circumstances, such as a change in residence or workplace, it may be possible to request a transfer to the testing center. The evaluation of the concerned CSC RO/FO will determine the permissibility of such transfers. To initiate the request, a written communication must be prepared and submitted within five (5) working days after the application filing deadline. This written request should encompass the following elements:
(i) Clearly state the rationale behind the desired transfer of the testing center.
(ii) Provide supporting evidence along with a copy of the Application Receipt.
(iii) Dispatch the request to the CSC RO/FO where the exam application was originally filed, using either email or courier services.
It is crucial to note that no transfer requests for the testing center will be accepted after the aforementioned deadline. Consequently, applicants are strongly advised to exercise prudence and certainty in selecting their intended testing center for the examination.
How to know your Room Assignment?
CSC will post the school assignment of examinees through the Online Notice of School Assignment (ONSA). Check on the CSC website. It is usually available 2 weeks before the exam date.
It is advisable to visit the venue of the exam before the exam date to familiarize yourself with the venue.
Examinees who cannot access the ONSA and/or still do not know their school assignment one week before examination day should inquire directly with the CSC Regional/Field Office concerned. A complete directory of CSC Regional/Field Offices nationwide is available on the CSC website.

Professional Level (Prof) – In English and Filipino
- Numerical Ability (Basic Operations; Word Problems)
- Analytical Ability (Word Association – identifying assumptions and conclusions; Logic; Data Interpretation)
- Verbal Ability (Grammar and Correct Usage; Vocabulary; Paragraph Organization; Reading Comprehension)
SubProfessional Level (SubProf) – In English and Filipino
- Numerical Ability (Basic Operations; Word Problems)
- Clerical Ability (Filing; Spelling)
- Verbal Ability (Grammar and Correct Usage; Vocabulary; Paragraph Organization; Reading Comprehension)
The general information items on the following:
- Philippine Constitution;
- Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees (R.A. 6713);
- Peace and Human Rights Issues and Concepts; and
- Environment Management and Protection
Release of Test Results
The Civil Service Exam result will be available on the official website of the Civil Service Commission within sixty (60) working days after the examination.
Examinees can generate their examination rating through OCSERGS or Online Civil Service Examination Result Generation System which can also be accessed through the CSC website. Generation of examination rating through OCSERGS shall be available approximately 15 days after the posting of the List of Passers, or as indicated in the corresponding issuance/advisory.
Passing Grade
To pass the test, an examinee should get a general rating of at least 80.
