What is AFPSAT?
AFPSAT is an acronym for The Armed Forces of the Philippines Service Aptitude Test. It is the unified written entrance examination that is utilized in the initial recruitment and selection process for entry into the major services ‐ Army, Air Force, and Navy. You need to pass this exam to be qualified to apply for any military position.
The Army Recruitment Offices (ARO) which include ARO Luzon, ARO Visayas, and ARO Mindanao is in charge of recruiting applicants as well as the conduct of the AFPSAT, Army Qualifying Examination (AQE), and Special Written Examination (SWE).
But before proceeding to take the AFPSAT, you can read if you are qualified to apply either in the Philippine Army, Air Force, or the Navy so your efforts won’t be wasted.
AFPSAT Requirements:
Prepare the following basic requirements for the AFPSAT:
- Birth Certificate (PSA)
- Original Transcript of Records and Diploma (for College degree holders)
- Original diploma with Form 137-A ( for high school graduate applicants but with Tesda or Vocational course certificate – NCII)
- Valid ID (Government-issued)
- 2 pcs 2×2 picture with white background

AFPSAT Schedule 2024 and Online Registration
The Philippine Army has a fixed testing site and a mobile testing site. For the Fixed Testing in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. Refer to the details below:

If you are far from the fixed testing site, you don’t need to worry. They also have a mobile testing site where they go to different places to accommodate applicants who want to take the exam.

AFPSAT Coverage 2024
AFPSAT has three subtests which are the following:
- Abstract Reasoning– a nonverbal, non-numerical measure of reasoning power. It measures the ability to see the relationships among things- objects, patterns, or designs rather than among words and numbers. 50 items for 12 minutes.
- Verbal Reasoning– measures the ability to reason and solve problems through the concept of words by comprehension, grammar, and vocabulary recognition. 65 items for 30 minutes.
- Numerical Reasoning– measures the ability to reason and solve problems with numbers, and other mathematical concepts. 35 items for 35 minutes.

AFPSAT Passing Score and Mechanics
AFPSAT result shall be valid for three (3) years.
Retake of AFPSAT in less than three (3) months is not allowed. AFPSAT results that are still valid and not yet expired should wait for them to expire. However, you will be allowed to retake the AFPSAT if you are a college graduate/degree holder who has passed the AFPSAT with Grades C and D (For Enlistment) and wants to have a higher score for the OCC application.
The maximum required AFPSAT taking is not more than THREE (3) opportunities.
