Smart Sim Registration: How to register Smart Sim Card?

The Sim Card Registration Act requires the registration of new and existing sim cards electronically through the Telcos website or any registration facility. The law protects consumers against illegal practices including scams, smishing, and other forms of online and mobile fraud.

It will take effect Starting December 27, 2022. After the law takes effect, subscribers will have 180 days (until April 26, 2023) to register their SIM cards. An additional 120 days might be added to the registration period. Failure to do so shall result in the Automatic Deactivation of the SIM. The Deactivated SIM may only be reactivated upon successful completion of the SIM Registration process not later than five (5) days after such Automatic Deactivation.

Registration is free of charge. For end users under 18, the SIM must be registered in their parent or legal guardian’s name.

How to register Smart Sim?

For Smart and Talk N’ Text subscribers, you can register using this smart sim registration link https://smart.com.ph/simreg. It can be accessed starting December 27, 2022. You can also get free 3 GB of data if you register today.

Step 1: Visit this link https://simreg.smart.com.ph/

Step 2: Enter your Mobile number and Tick the box after you have read the Terms and Conditions.

Step 3: Click the send OTP, and you will receive the One time Pin on your mobile.

Step 4: Input the OTP and your information and attach a copy of your valid ID. You can upload one of the following Id’s:

  1. Passport;
  2. Philippine Identification;
  3. Social Security System ID;
  4. Government Service Insurance System E-Card;
  5. Driver’s License;
  6. National Bureau of Investigation Clearance;
  7. Police Clearance;
  8. Firearms’ License to Own and Posses ID;
  9. Professional Regulation Commission ID;
  10. Integrated Bar of the Philippines ID;
  11. Overseas Workers Welfare Administration ID;
  12. Bureau of Internal Revenue ID;
  13. Voter’s ID;
  14. Citizen’s Card;
  15. Unified Multi-purpose Identification Card;
  16. Person with Disabilities Card; or 17. Other valid government-issued ID with a Photo

Step 5: Save your control number. You will be notified if your registration is successful.

For a Postpaid sim, you can register by texting YES to 5858.

What information will be collected for the Sim Card Registration?

  • The following information will be collected:
    • Full name
    • Birthday
    • Sex
    • Present or official address
    • ID and ID number
  • A liveness check or selfie photo will be required for validation
  • Businesses or organizations will be required to provide the following:
    • Business name
    • Business address
    • Full name of authorized signatory

How many Sim Cards can you register?

There is no limit to the number of sim cards you can register.
