Philippine Military Academy is the country’s primary military institution. Thus, it’s tasked to produce the most qualified military leaders for the Armed Forces of the Philippines. It is located in the city of Baguio.
The PMA announces the opening of the Online Application for the PMA Entrance Exam 2023 starting May 01, 2023, until August 11, 2023 (The deadline is extended). If you aspire to be a Cadet, the first step is to take the PMAEE or the Philippine Military Academy Entrance Examination. But before that, let’s take a look at why you should join the Academy.

Why be a PMA Cadet? Benefits and Privileges
- Privilege and honor of serving our country– After 4 years of training, you can serve as one of the leaders of the AFP. And be of Service to your country.
- Free College Education– You don’t need to worry about paying your Tuition and other Miscellaneous Fees. It is all free.
- Monthly Salary and Allowances– Aside from getting a free education, you will also receive a monthly salary and allowances.

Qualifications
- Must be a natural-born Filipino citizen;
- Must be at least 17 years of age and not more than 22 years of age on 01 June of the admission year;
- Must be at least Senior High School Graduate (Grade 12);
- Must have at least a GPA/GWA of 85% or its equivalent;
- Must have a barefoot height of not less than 5’0″ (152.4cm) but not more than 6’4″ (193.04cm) for both males and females;
- Must be single and never been married, never borne or sired a child;
- Must be of good moral character;
- Must have no administrative or criminal case;
- Must pass the PMA Entrance Examination;
- Must be physically and mentally fit for military training;
- Must pass the Complete Physical-Medical
- Examination by AFP Medical Board Nr 1;
- Must pass the Physical Fitness Test and Aptitude for the Service Interview;

As per the latest update from PMA, the following exam centers are scheduled for different regions:
- Visayas: 9 exam centers on August 26 and 27, 2023.
- Mindanao: 15 exam centers are allocated for September 9 and 10, 2023.
- NCR and South Luzon: 12 exam centers are designated for September 23 and 24, 2023.
- North Luzon: 12 exam centers are arranged for September 30 and October 1, 2023.
Specific venues for these centers will be announced at a later date.
Requirements for Online Application
- Computer or smartphone/mobile device with internet access
- A valid and working email account
- Scanned copy of the PSA birth certificate and Form 137/138 or Transcript of Record in Portable Document Format (PDF) or image JPEG format.
ALL PAGES of the document should be saved in ONE (1) document file format.
NOTE:
Scanned copies of the PSA birth certificate and Form 137/138 are required and will be uploaded to the PMA Online Cadet Application System.
PMA Online Application 2023
The Philippine Military Academy officially opens the PMA Online Cadet Application System for the PMA Entrance Exam 2023 for PMA Class 2028 aspirants.
The online application officially opened. To apply online, you can follow the steps below:

- Go to the Cadet Application System by clicking this link https://admission.pma.edu.ph.
- Create an account by clicking “Not Registered Yet? Sign up Instead. Old accounts are no longer valid for the recruitment and selection cycle so everyone should register for new accounts
- Fill out the PMA Online Application Form. Double-check your details for accuracy and then click the SIgn-up button.
- Note: Remember your email and password because you will use them when signing in to the PMA Online Cadet Application System Account.
- You will then be automatically signed in to your account.
- Click the Personal Information Tab.
- Complete the Application Form with your personal information.
- For the Examination Site: It can be changed anytime before the deadline on August 1, 2023.
- Data fields with a red asterisk are required to be filled.
- Click the Save Information at the bottom of the page.
- Select the Educational Background and Click the Add Educational Background tab.
- Fill out the needed information and click the save button. All applicants need to add at least their high school credentials.
- Upload your requirements by clicking choose File Button and click Save. Upload one file for each requirement. All scanned pages must be in one file.
- Click the “Survey” Tab and answer the question then Click Save Changes Button.
- You will then be redirected to the notification page where you can see your Application progress.
Note:
- Applicants may update their personal data and requirements online during the period prescribed for online application.
- Click the Notification Button to view notifications and status. After validation, the System will email the applicant’s personal e-mail with the PMA Entrance Exam examination permit as the next stage of the admission process. Later, the access to download Exam Permits via online applicant accounts will be announced.
PMA Entrance Exam 2023 Coverage
Like the past examinations, this year’s PMAEE will also cover the following subject areas:
- Algebra and Geometry
- Grammar
- Composition
- Reading and Comprehension
- Verbal Reasoning
- Numerical Reasoning
- Pattern Analysis.
You may start to review at least 3 months before the scheduled examination date. Gather as much review materials as possible or look for free PMA Entrance Exam reviewers. They will help you hurdle this first step of your PMA career.
Physical Fitness Test (PFT)
You can start your physical training while waiting for the exam. Below are the lists of PFT events that you need to complete.
- 3.2 km run
- Push-ups
- Sit-ups
- Pull-ups (male)/ Flex-arm hang (female)

Question: I applied to take the exam at a particular center. Can I take the exam at another center? Answer: YES, go to the center on exam day and inform the proctor about your circumstances. |
Question: Is there a limit to how many times I can take the exam? Answer: NONE, so long as you meet the requirements |
Question: I applied by mail but I did not receive a permit or notice. Answer: Check the master list for online applicants to verify if you are qualified to take the exam. If you are not on the list and you think you are qualified, contact the academy registrar. If you are on the list, proceed to the exam center on examination day. |
Question: What are the things I should bring during the exam day? Answer: Photocopy of Birth Certificate and Grades2 x 2 ID PictureValid ID (preferably school/driver’s license)at least 2 pencils ( no. 2) |
Question: I did not apply by mail or online, can I go straight to the exam center on exam day? Answer: YES, but you will be the last priority. Priority will be given to regular applicants. Proctors bring only a limited number of exam materials. |
Question: How much is the fee to take the exam? Answer: NO FEES. The exam is FREE. |
Question: How long is the exam? Answer: In the morning will be for administrative aspects of the exam. It includes fill up forms, limited physical examination, etc. The exam proper starts at exactly 12.00 noon and will last up to 4.30 pm. |
If you passed the PMAEE, you will be notified by the Office of Cadet Admission (OCA). Your notification is either through the mail, newspapers, or website announcement. The OCA will also inform the applicant of the date of your physical examination.
Then report to AFP Medical Center (formerly V. Luna) for medical, dental, and neuropsychiatric examination. They will also give further instructions on the next step of the application process.
