BuCor Recruitment 2023: Bureau Of Corrections hiring Corrections Officer I

The Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) is under the Department of Justice responsible for the custody and rehabilitation of state criminals sentenced to imprisonment for three years or more.

They are now accepting applications for its Recruitment Cycle 2023. For those who are interested to be a part of their agency as CORRECTIONS OFFICER I, read the qualifications and requirements below. Qualified applicants can receive a gross monthly salary of P37,338 per month.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS:

The following are the qualifications they are looking for.

1. Must be a natural-born Filipino citizen;

2. Must be of good moral character;

3. Must have completed a baccalaureate degree;

4. Height Requirement: Male – 1.57 m | Female – 1.52 m (Note: Height waiver is accepted for applicants belonging to cultural minorities.

5. Must possess any of the following eligibilities:

  • a. 2nd Level Eligibility (Career Service Professional, CSC PO1/PO-1998 onwards)
  • b. RA 1080 (Bar & Board Examination)
  • c. Penology Officer
  • d. PD No. 907 (College Graduate with Honors)
  • e. Police Officer Eligibility (July 1998 onwards)

6. Age Requirement: 21-40 yrs old (ย The age limit for applicants for Corrections Officer I as per R. A. 10575 or “The Bureau of Corrections Act of 2013” is forty (40) years old. However, those above thirty-six (36) years of age will have to sign a waiver agreeing that they may not qualify for the full retirement benefits afforded to a Uniformed Officer of BuCor).

7. Must not have been convicted by final judgment of any offense or crime involving moral turpitude;

8. Must not have been dishonorably discharged from military employment or dismissed for cause from any civilian position in the government;

9. Must pass the physical/agility test, qualifying exam, interview, neuro-psychiatric exam, and medical/dental exam.

Minimum Qualifications:

Prior to submission of Folders, applicants must secure the following:

  • Pag ibig Number
  • Philhealth Number

  • g. One (1) original PSA Marriage Certificate (if applicable)

  • 1 Original MTC / MCTC / MeTC / MeCTC
  • 1 Original Prosecution Clearance
  • 1 Photocopy of PSA Birth Certificate
  • 1 Photocopy of PSA Marriage Certificate (if applicable)
  • 1 Authenticated Copy of Certification / Diploma
  • 1 Original Certificate of Employment
  • 1 Photocopy of Passport (if any)
  • 1 Original NOTARIZED waiver to undergo BI
  • 1ย Sketch of house/residence from landmarks
  • 2ย pcs. of latest 2×2 pictures

Applicant Updating Stub

Provide two (2) copies of this Stub for:(1) to be attached in front of the FOLDER 1 andย (1) for a personal copy which applicants must carry throughout recruitment processes and will be signed by the Recruitment personnel only. Paper size:ย 74 x 210 mm.

BUCOR Background Investigation Authorization/waiver

WHERE AND HOW TO APPLY:

Applicants may submit their requirements placed in a folder properly TABBED and labeled.

Depending on your location, you can apply personally to the BuCor National Headquarters’ Human Resource Division (BuCor National Headquarters, New Bilibid Prison, Muntinlupa) or any Human Resource Units of BuCor’s six (6) Operating Prison and Penal Farms, namely:

  1. Correctional Institution for Women (Mandaluyong City)
  2. Sablayan Prison and Penal Farm (Sablayan, Occidental Mindoro)
  3. Iwahig Prison and Penal Farm (Puerto Princesa, Palawan)
  4. Leyte Regional Prison (Abuyog, Leyte)
  5. Davao Prison and Penal Farm (Panabo City, Davao del Norte)
  6. San Ramon Prison and Penal Farm (Zamboanga City)

All applicants are hereby informed of the following guidelines:

  • Acceptance of application folders shall be fromย 0800H to 1400Hย only. No submissions will be accepted past 1400H in order to allow for the proper evaluation of all applications.
  • All applicants who submit their application folders at the NHQ shall form at the NBP Sunken Garden stage to be given instructions regarding receiving application folders at the HRD.
  • Each applicant shall be given a stub that they shall present at every stage of the Recruitment Process in order to track their progress along the way. Without the Recruitment Stub, applicants will not be entertained.
  • Only 2022 applicants shall be allowed to pull out their application folders for re-application.
  • Applicants who do not make it to their scheduled screening process, except for justifiable circumstances, shall not be recommended for the next screening procedure.

What to Wear?

Applicants must wear a white round neck shirt, maong pants, white rubber shoes, white socks, black garrison belt with silver buckle, and surgical mask. Males must have neat hair cut while females must have their hair tied in a bun.

Deadline of Application

The deadline for the acceptance of application folders shall be onย April 28, 2023. This is to allow the smooth facilitation of the entire recruitment process.

Registered Criminologist

Registered criminologists are excluded from completing the Written Qualifying Exams (WQE) and will instead be scheduled for the Neuro-Psychiatric Examinations immediately, according to Section 34 of RA 11131, also known as “The Philippine Criminology Profession Act of 2018”.

Criminology graduates holding eligibilities such as the CSC Professional Eligibility as well as applicants from other disciplines will have to take the WQE as the initial screening step of the recruitment process.
