If you need to get either a new passport or a renewal of your old passport, you would need to have an appointment first. But as they said, there is always an exception to the rule.
If you belong to this category you may avail the courtesy lane. You can go directly to the DFA Office near you without any scheduled appointment.
NO APPOINTMENT IS NEEDED for the following:
- SENIOR CITIZEN and one (1) travel companion. The companion of the Senior Citizen should be an immediate family member. If the companion is not an immediate family member, he should show proof of travel arrangements with the senior citizen.
- PERSON WITH DISABILITY (PWDs) and one (1) travel companion. The person with a disability shall have proof of disability. The companion of the PWD should be an immediate family member. If the companion is not an immediate family member, he should show proof of travel arrangements with the PWD.
- SOLO PARENT and his/her minor children. The solo parent must present a valid solo parent card.
- PREGNANT WOMEN. If pregnancy is not visible, applicants must present a medical certificate or records.
- MINORS SEVEN (7) YEARS OLD AND BELOW and his/her parents and minor siblings.
- OVERSEAS FILIPINO WORKERS (land-based, or seafarers). Must show valid proof of status such as Valid iDOLE card, employment contract, work Visa or Seaman’s book stamped at the international border less than 365 days from the date of Application.
Senior citizens, PWDs, solo parents and their minor children, pregnant women, and OFWs have the option to choose from regular (P950) or expedited (P1200) processing of their passport application.
The companions of the senior citizens and PWDs, minors seven (7) years old and below, their parents, and minor siblings are to be assessed expedited processing fees because they are not entitled to use the courtesy lane; they are accommodated for their convenience.
All applications made on Saturdays – whether those entitled to use the Courtesy Lane Facility or those accommodated for their convenience – shall be assessed expedited processing fees based on the relevant provision of the Passport Act.
The public is, however, advised that COs may set a cut-off time or limit the number of applicants who could be accommodated in the courtesy lanes depending on the space and capacity of each CO, and the need to ensure the safety and convenience of the public.
Access to the courtesy lane could also be restricted in the aftermath of emergencies such as typhoons and declarations suspending government work. This is intended to allow COs to serve applicants whose online appointments were affected by the emergency.
