Wage Order No. NCR-23| Minimum Wage hike in Metro Manila

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) announces that the minimum wage laborers in the National Capital Region (Metro Manila) would receive a PHP33 daily raise, while those in Western Visayas (Region 6) will receive an increase of up to PHP110 following the approval of their Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Boards.

As per Wage Order No. NCR-23, which was announced on May 13, 2022, Metro Manila workers in the non-agricultural sector will receive PHP570 per day, while those in the farm sector will receive PHP533.

The salary adjustment is likely to benefit about one million minimum wage laborers in private companies in the region, according to the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE). It says the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board-NCR issued Wage Order No. 23 on May 13 and is expected to take effect 15 days after publication.

They add the increase “considered the restoration of the purchasing power of minimum wage earners because of the escalating prices of basic goods, commodities, and petroleum products”.
