GSIS offers House for Lease with Option to Buy Program

The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) is now offering housing units for lease with an option to buy program to interested parties who will be given the priority to purchase it any time during the lease agreement.

According to GSIS President and General Manager Rolando Ledesma Macasaet “Sa ilalim ng programang ito, prioridad ng GSIS ang mga kasalukuyang naninirahan sa residential properties ng GSIS upang magkaroon sila ng pagkakataong maging lehitimo ang pamamalagi doon at tuluyang mabili ang kanilang tinitirhan. Hindi natin hahayaang tuluyan silang mawalan ng tahanang mauuwian lalo na ngayong nasa gitna pa rin tayo ng pandemya.”

Who are eligible to apply?

The interested lessee must be a Filipino citizen who is legally authorized to enter into a lease agreement and financially capable to pay rental obligations to qualify for the program. He/She must have a regular source of income that will support his/her rental obligations.

In the program “Lease With Option to Buy” (LWOB) you will be given a valid 1-year lease offer and renewable at the option of GSIS.

The lessees must submit an option-to-buy proposal for approval of GSIS if they opt to buy the property.

Requirements

Qualified lessees must submit and accomplish the following requirements:

1. LWOB Application Form, properly accomplished and signed by the applicant/s;
2. Photocopy of any two (2) of the following Identification Card (original to be presented):
   1. Employee’s ID/Company ID
   2. Driver’s License
   3. Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) ID
   4. Senior Citizen’s ID
   5. SSS ID
   6. COMELEC/Voters ID;
   7. Passport
   8. Any government-issued ID
3. 3) Proof of Income;

Option to Buy

The lessee has the Option to Buy (OTB) the leased premises at any time during the effectivity of the lease agreement but not exceeding thirty (30) days before the expiration of the lease. During this period, and provided that the lessee has no outstanding unpaid rental, he may send GSIS a written proposal to buy the leased premises in cash.
