Tech4ed is looking for a Computer Programmer I and IT Officer I

Tech4ED is a project of the DOST-ICT Office that aims to harness ICT to enable, empower and transform society creating an inclusive, integrated and equitable countryside, through providing opportunities for employment and empowering entrepreneurs. 

Its mission is to harness the power of ICT in society towards creating a progressive countryside in 42,000 Tech4ED centers nationwide.

It stands for Technology for Education, to gain Employment, train Entrepreneurs towards Economic Development.

Tech4ed is looking for applicants for Computer Programmer I and IT Officer I. It will be under the Contract of Service Work.

Computer Programmer I

Area of Assignment: DICT Central Office, Quezon City

Qualifications:
• Candidate must be a graduate of Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, and other IT-related courses with at least 1 year of experience in client/server environment;
• Knowledgable in computer systems, hardware, software, and peripheral environment;
• With hands-on experience in website development using MVC (particularly Yii/Yii2 among others) and including but not limited to PHP/MySQL, HTML/HTML 5, Javascript, CSS/CSS3/Bootstrap;
• Knowledge in Java is an advantage;
• Working knowledge in open source and proprietary server operating systems, database, Content Management Systems (CMS), Frameworks, Web Servers, and multimedia software;
• Knowledge in securing systems application, design, and deployment;
• Strong analytical skills; Proven ability to analyze and solve problems
and issues effectively and quickly;
• Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced and multi-cultural environment;
• Team player, high initiative, quick learner and positive working attitude

IT Officer I

Area of Assignment: DICT Central Office, Quezon City

Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree relevant to the job
Experience: 2 years’ relevant experience
Training: 8 hours of relevant training
Eligibility: Career Service (Professional)/Second Level Eligibility

Special Qualifications:
• High-level knowledge of ICT systems development standards and procedures;
• High-level knowledge in Object-oriented programming (OOP) and Model-view-controller (MVC) frameworks, such as PHP, Yii2, and Laravel;
• Capable of applying data security and protection measures;
• Capable of managing IT and system development projects;
• Proficient in database management system;
• Knowledge in project management and planning;
• Abilities in analytical reasoning and logical problem solving;
• Keen attention to details;
• Preferably with ICT Technical writing experience.
• Proficient in oral and written communications;
• Proficient in the use of Excel/PowerPoint and other Microsoft software application systems;
• High level of motivation, initiative, and responsibility.
