The National Identification system will be tested first to the Philippine Statistics Authority’s own employees.
According to the report of Philippine News Agency, a total of about 3,000 workers nationwide will commence the pilot testing.
Why is there a need for pilot testing?
Ariel Fortuito, PSA Negros Oriental Provincial Administrator said that this will help the PSA monitor the process of registration and point out mistakes and correct them.
What is a National ID?
The National ID is an Identification ID that provides valid proof of identity to all Filipinos and resident alien. It includes all the pertinent information that would simplify transactions meaning you won’t need to show any other ID as the National ID will be sufficient.
When will the pilot testing start?
The pilot testing is scheduled to commence in September(next month) after which that PSA will coordinate with different government agencies where the ID can be used. This includes the Social Security System, Government Service Insurance System and Philhealth among others.
