Around 5,000 jobs in Slovenia to open for Filipinos

Another good opportunity is waiting for Filipinos willing to work outside the country. Apart from Canada and Russia, Slovenia which is located in central Europe is seeking Filipino skilled and semi-skilled workers to add to their workforce.

Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III announces that 2,000 up to 5,000 jobs will open for Filipinos in Slovenia. Accordingly, the government is still working on a bilateral labor agreement with Slovenia.

“We are working on a bilateral agreement, para pag nagkaroon (na), pwede na po tayong mag-recruit at mag-deploy ng mga workers dun sa Slovenia,” Bello said in an interview with Radyo Inquirer on Monday.

Bello said that Bilateral Labor agreement is essential to protect workers. The said agreement will be ready after 3 months so until then they can’t deploy workers yet.

“Maganda ang kanilang offer eh, maganda ang sweldo, maganda ang mag terms of employment kaya gusto naming…magandang alternative market of labor,” he further said.

{They have a good offer, the salary is very competitive and the terms of employment are good. It’s a good alternative market of labor, he added.}

Qualified applicants can receive a minimum salary of P50,000 up to P70,000 per month. Labor secretary mentioned that the salary is definitely higher than what OFWs are getting in the Middle East and even in Hong Kong.

Health care workers, engineers, truck drivers, heavy machine and equipment operators, and household workers are among the jobs to open.

He noted that a technical working group will be formed to negotiate the terms of the agreement and ensure the protection and safety of Filipino workers
