Government employees like nurses and teachers can enjoy a higher salary thanks to the Salary Standardization Law (SSL) V.

Signed by President Duterte in early 2020, this law serves as an encouraging start of the year for public servants across all branches – with 4 tranches increasing their salaries over 4 years until 2023. The fourth tranche which is also the last tranche of the SSL V is effective starting January 2023.
