The Department of Health through the Health Human Resource Development Bureau is accepting scholarship applications for the Masters in Public Management Major in Health Systems and Development (MPM-HSD) offered by the Development Academy of the Philippines.

The Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP) and the Department of Health (DOH) continues its partnership to produce skilled health system reform implementers and rural health development managers.

These health system reform implementers and rural health development managers are trained to provide better health services to Filipinos in rural areas under the Master in Public Management major in Health Systems and Development (MPM-HSD) of DAP’s Graduate School of Public and Development Management (GSPDM).

Who can apply for the scholarship?

The following are encouraged to apply, subject for screening and evaluation process:

– Municipal Health Officers
– Rural Health Physicians
– Public Health Nurses
– Development Management Officers
Other DOH & LGU health professionals assuming the role of a health manager in his/her area of assignment.

What is MPM-HSD?

Masters in Public Management Major in Health Systems and Development (MPM-HSD) is a 38-unit interdisciplinary ladderized graduate program that will run for 2 years, two-three weeks and twice a year face to face session.

This program intends to create health care managers and leaders who are responsive to the changing health care needs of the community.

It equips the graduate with necessary skills, knowledge, and technical tools in pursuing reforms and proposing strategic inventions to the problems and concerns in the health sector.

Qualifications

Interested applicants shall meet the eligibility criteria for the scholarship.

1. Permanent employee of the DOH for at least one year.

2. Completed a Bachelor’s degree or related discipline.

3. Not more than 55 years old at the start of the program.

All eligible applicants must submit their applications to HHRDB by June 28, 2019.
