Israel’s tourism sector will open a thousand jobs for Filipinos by November according to Israel’s ambassador to the Philippines.
This is due to President Duterte’s effort and the outcome of his visits to the Middle eastern Country last year, Israel Ambassador Rafael Harpaz stated.
Government to Government Agreement
Israel preferred a government to government agreement so the hiring of Filipinos will be done through the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration.
“In November, finally, we are going to start the process of having Filipinos coming to work in the tourism industry,” Rafel Harpaz said.
In a statement, he said why they like Filipinos especially when it comes to working. Furthermore, Jerusalem’s agreement with Manila is the first of its kind given the warm hospitality of Filipinos.
“Filipinos are the best in Israel. Why do we love so much the Filipinos? Because you have the best service, you’re friendly and we have a wonderful experience with the caregivers that take care of our most beloved people,” he said.
He continued that he expects to see the first batch of Filipinos to be there to work by Christmas.
“It’s another good news that by Christmas, I hope the first Filipino will go with visa to work in tourism. That would be history,” he said.
On September 23, 2019, POEA released a statement regarding the hiring of Filipinos in Israel. Administrator Bernard P. Olalia warns applicants to avoid offers of employment from illegal recruiters who may take advantage of the reported 1,000 hotel housekeeping jobs for Filipino workers in Israel. Instead, apply to POEA only as the hiring is only through POEA.
