How to Apply for the DOST Scholarship?

The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) offers scholarships to Filipino students who wish to pursue undergraduate education in various science and technology-related fields.

The application process for this scholarship is now more convenient than ever, thanks to the DOST-SEI Undergraduate Scholarship E-Application System. In this article, we will walk you through the steps to apply for the DOST Scholarship, providing important information and tips along the way.

Step 1: Register with a Valid Email Address

Before you can begin your DOST Scholarship application, you must have a valid email address. This email address will serve as your primary means of communication throughout the application process. It is essential to ensure that your email address is accurate and has not been compromised in any data breach. You are encouraged to use a secured email account, preferably one with two-step verification for added security.

To register, visit the official SEI website at https://ugrad.science-scholarships.ph/#/home. Read the instructions carefully and create an account using your valid email address. You will receive an email for verification.

Step 2: Confirm Your Eligibility

Once you have registered and received the verification email, click on the link provided in the email. This will take you to the Eligibility Module, where you will be asked a series of questions to determine if you are eligible for the DOST Scholarship. If you are found ineligible, you will receive a Notice of Disqualification in your email.

Step 3: Complete the Application Modules

If you are eligible to apply for the scholarship, you can proceed to complete the various application modules. These modules include:

Personal Data

  • Provide your personal information, including your name, birth date, and other relevant details.

Contact Information

  • Share your current contact information, including your address and mobile number.

Family Data

  • Input information about your family, such as the names, occupations, and incomes of your parents or guardians.

Financial Contribution

  • This section requires you to detail the financial contributions of your family, including their total annual income.

Household Information Questionnaire

  • Answer questions related to your household, such as the type of house you live in and the number of household members.

School Information

  • Provide information about your current school and your academic achievements.

Upload Documents

  • This is a critical step. You will need to upload essential documents as part of your application. The system accepts .jpeg, .png, .bmp, and .pdf file types, and you can upload multiple files up to 5MB per upload. Ensure that you have the correct and complete files ready before proceeding.

For example, if you need to submit proof of your parent’s income, you should take a photo of each page separately and upload each as a separate file. After selecting the files, you can preview them to ensure accuracy before clicking the upload button. If you make an error, you can re-upload the correct files to overwrite the previously uploaded documents.

Step 4: Selection of Test Center Location

Only successful applicants will have the opportunity to select their test center location preference. This choice is crucial, as it determines where you will take the qualifying examination. You cannot change your test center location preference once submitted, so consider your whereabouts on the examination date carefully.

Step 5: Review and Submit

Before pressing the “SUBMIT” button, make sure you have filled out all the modules completely with accurate information and correct spellings. Once you submit your application, you cannot make any changes. Double-check your details and documents to ensure a successful submission.

It’s essential to be cautious during the application process and follow the guidelines provided by DOST. By using a secure email, maintaining a working mobile number, and uploading accurate documents, you increase your chances of success in your DOST Scholarship application.

Additionally, always refer to the official SEI website to ensure you have the latest and most accurate information regarding the scholarship program. Good luck with your application!
