Updated October 14, 2026: The ₱42 daily minimum wage increase is now in effect under Wage Order No. ROVII-27. Covered private-sector workers must receive at least ₱582 per day in Class A areas and ₱542 per day in Class B areas starting today, October 14, 2026. The previous ₱540 and ₱500 rates applied only through October 13.

Which areas are Class A and Class B?
Class A: Carcar, Cebu, Danao, Lapu-Lapu, Mandaue, Naga and Talisay cities, plus Compostela, Consolacion, Cordova, Liloan, Minglanilla and San Fernando (Expanded Metro Cebu). Class B: Other covered cities and municipalities not included in Class A. The official NWPC wage matrix determines the exact classification.
What about Negros Oriental and Siquijor?
Although Negros Oriental and Siquijor are now part of the Negros Island Region (NIR), NWPC states that their cities and municipalities remain covered by Wage Order No. ROVII-27. This is important when checking wage rates by geographic area.
Central Visayas kasambahay minimum wage
Wage Order No. ROVII-DW-06 also raises the monthly minimum wage for domestic workers from ₱7,000 to ₱7,500 effective October 14, 2026. This is a monthly domestic-worker rate, separate from the daily private-sector minimum wage.
Who is covered and are exemptions possible?
The increase applies to covered minimum wage earners in the private sector. NWPC notes that certain retail/service establishments with not more than ten workers and businesses affected by disasters may seek exemptions subject to applicable rules; registered Barangay Micro Business Enterprises have separate treatment under minimum wage law.
