Determining the Minimum Wage
The minimum wage in the Philippines is set through the National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC), which considers recommendations from Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Boards (RTWPBs). These boards consist of representatives from labor, management, and the government, ensuring a balanced approach to wage setting. Wage Order No. ROVII-24
Effective October 1, 2023, Wage Order No. ROVII-24 brings about a notable rise of P33 in Central Visayas, Region VII.
The updated minimum wage rates for both Class A to C areas now span from P420 to P468 for non-agricultural establishments and P415 to P458 for agricultural and non-agricultural establishments employing fewer than 10 workers.
