Working as a flight attendant is a dream job for many Filipinos. You get a stable income, training from the airline, and the chance to travel. If you want to be a cabin crew member, this guide shows the current basic requirements of the major Philippine airlines and where to apply.
Airlines do not keep one cabin crew opening all year. They hold hiring rounds and open days from time to time, so always check their official career pages for the latest schedule.
What does a flight attendant do?
Flight attendants, also called cabin crew, take care of passengers on board. Their main job is safety. They brief passengers on emergency procedures, handle emergencies and first aid, and serve meals and drinks during the flight.
Philippine Airlines and PAL Express cabin crew
Philippine Airlines (PAL) hires cabin crew for both PAL and PAL Express under one process. Based on PAL’s posted cabin crew requirements, applicants must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Be a Filipino citizen, or legally allowed to work in the Philippines
- Communicate well in English, spoken and written
- Have completed at least 2 years of college (bachelor’s program; vocational or certificate courses are not counted)
- Have no visible tattoos
- Be willing to work on weekends and holidays and to be assigned anywhere PAL or PAL Express operates
- Pass the medical and security checks before hiring
In its past cabin crew postings, PAL listed minimum heights of 5’2″ for women and 5’6″ for men. PAL also requires a valid passport for cabin crew hires.

Cebu Pacific and Cebgo cabin crew
Cebu Pacific hires cabin crew for both Cebu Pacific and Cebgo. Its posted basic qualifications are:
- Finished at least Senior High School (Grade 12)
- Filipino national based in the Philippines
- Good in both Filipino and English
- At least 5’3″ for women and 5’7″ for men, plus a 210 cm reach test
- Physically fit for training and cabin crew duties
- Willing to be based outside Metro Manila if needed
You do not need prior cabin crew experience, but experience on Airbus aircraft is a plus.
Where to apply: Apply only through the Cebu Pacific careers portal and look for the Cabin Crew posting. Shortlisted applicants get their assessment schedule by email.
AirAsia cabin crew
AirAsia Philippines also hires cabin crew from time to time. Requirements and schedules change per hiring round, so check the official AirAsia careers site for open cabin crew posts in the Philippines.
Tips before you apply
- Prepare an updated resume with a recent photo.
- Follow the airline’s dress code for open days. Business attire is the norm.
- Apply only through official career sites or the airline’s verified pages.
