How to register and generate QR code on Stay Safe App?

Stay Safe App Philippines is the official Digital Contact Tracing System of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases. More Local Government Units are using StaySafe.ph since it serves not only as a Covid 19 tracing application but also as a health condition reporting and social distancing system as it will remind the user that he/she has been exposed to a possible COVID-19 case.

It has a Google Apple Exposure Notification (GAEN) system. When it comes to privacy, the developer assured the public that it respects the data privacy of its users. What you need instead is just to turn on the Bluetooth so you can receive notifications if you’ve been exposed to a user who reports being Covid 19 positive. However, you can turn this off anytime. The notifications will not expose anyone’s names but instead just a string of IDs of the user for their privacy.

What you need when you register on StaySafe.ph?

You need a mobile number for verification purposes where they will send you the One Time Pin (OTP). Moreover, this will also be used by the LGU to contact you when you will contract the virus.

On the other hand, you can opt to register using your Facebook account instead of your mobile number. The Contact Tracing System will access your Facebook Name, Profile Picture, and User ID.
