The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) announces the application date for the scholarship program (EDSP and ODSP) which will be on July 26, 2024, until August 16, 2024.

Education for Development Scholarship Program (EDSP)
The EDSP is a scholarship grant offered to qualified dependents of active OWWA members. It is in the form of financial assistance amounting to a maximum of P60,000.00 per school year.
Beneficiaries of OFW who intend to enroll in a 4-5 year baccalaureate course in any preferred colleges/universities.
The Education for Development Scholarship Program (EDSP) comprises two categories: Category 1 and 2.
Category 1
Qualifications For Category 1: (open for incoming first-year college students)
- child of an active OWWA member or a sibling of a single active OWWA member
- single;
- grade 12 graduating student;
- not more than 21 years old;
- with a General Weighted Average (GWA) of 80% or equivalent;
- have taken the DOST-SEI exam; and
- belong to the top 1000 qualifiers of the DOST national qualifying exam.
Category 2
Qualifications For Category 2: ( second to fifth-year college students)
- child of an active OWWA member or a sibling of a single active OWWA member
- single;
- not more than 30 years old;
- with a GWA not lower than 85% or equivalent;
- no failed grades;
- enrolled in colleges/ universities based in the Philippines.
OFW Dependent Scholarship Program (ODSP)*
The ODSP is educational assistance to qualified dependents of active OWWA-member OFWs who intend to pursue any 4 or 5-year baccalaureate degree or associate degree in a state college or university.
The scholarship shall be in the form of financial assistance of P20,000.00 annually. The program is for dependents of OFW whose income is not more than US$600.00.
The OFWDSP is also divided into two categories: the Category 1 & the Category 2.
Category 1
Qualifications for Category 1: (Incoming First Year College)
- child of an active OWWA member or a sibling of a single active OWWA member.
- single;
- not more than 21 years old
- OFWs who receive a monthly salary of not more than US $600 or lower or equivalent;
- with passing grade or GWA;
- enrolled in colleges/ universities based in the Philippines.
Category 2
Qualifications for Category 2: (second to fifth-year college students)
- child of an active OWWA member or a sibling of a single active OWWA member.
- single;
- not more than 30 years old
- OFWs who receive a monthly salary of not more than US $600 or lower or equivalent;
- with passing grade or GWA;
- enrolled in colleges/ universities based in the Philippines.
