Who Can Take the Exam

Under Section 15 of Republic Act No. 10862 (the Nutrition and Dietetics Law of 2016), an applicant for the nutritionist-dietitian licensure examination must satisfactorily prove that they:

  • Are a citizen of the Philippines, or of a foreign country/state that grants reciprocity to Filipino nutritionist-dietitians under Section 31 of the same law
  • Are of good moral character
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in nutrition and dietetics (or its equivalent) recognized or accredited by CHED and conferred by a duly authorized school, college or university here or abroad
  • Have not been convicted of an offense involving moral turpitude by a court of competent jurisdiction

Always confirm the live documentary checklist in PRC LERIS and on PRC’s requirements pages before your appointment. Common supporting documents for board exams generally include a PSA birth certificate, PSA marriage contract (when applicable), and a Transcript of Records with the remark “For Board Examination Purposes” — verify the exact list shown for Nutritionist-Dietitian in LERIS.

Nutritionist-Dietitian Board Exam Subjects

Section 16 of R.A. 10862 lists the licensure examination subjects as including, but not limited to:

  • Nutrition and Dietetics
  • Foods and Food Service Systems
  • Community and Applied Nutrition

The Board, with PRC approval, may revise subject titles, tables of specifications and syllabi. Follow the official November 2026 examination program and the instructions in your NOA. PRC posts exam programs on its Downloads page.

Passing Rule

Under Section 17 of R.A. 10862, you pass if you obtain a general or weighted average of at least 75%, with no rating below 50% in any subject. An applicant who fails to get a passing average but scored at least 75% in each of at least one-half of the subjects may, within two years, retake only the subjects below 75%. If that conditional retake is also failed, the examinee must take all subjects again.

How to Apply Through PRC LERIS

  1. Go to PRC Online Services (LERIS) and sign in or create an account.
  2. Choose the examination application and select Nutritionist-Dietitian.
  3. Pick your exam date and testing center from the available slots.
  4. Pay the application fee through the payment options shown in LERIS (confirm the amount on screen).
  5. Submit your documents at your PRC appointment within the filing period, then keep your Notice of Admission for exam day.
