President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. issues proclamation number 2 declaring July 9, 2022, Saturday as a regular holiday throughout the country in observance of Eid’l Adha (Feast of Sacrifice).
Eid Al Adha is one of the two religious festivals for Muslims which commemorates the obedience of Ibrahim to Allah’s order to sacrifice his son Ismael. That is why it is called a Feast of Sacrifice. When Ibrahim is about to sacrifice his son, Allah replaces it with a Lamb.
