Republic Act No.9849 provides that Eid’l Adha shall be observed as a regular holiday.

Eid Al Adha is one of the two religious festivals for Muslims which commemorates the obedience of Ibrahim to Allah’s order to sacrifice his son Ismael. That is why it is called a Feast of Sacrifice. When Ibrahim is about to sacrifice his son, Allah replaces it with a Lamb.

Hence, every year on the 10th of Dhul Hijjah, Muslims all over the world celebrate Eid ul Adha. Wherein Muslims slaughter a lamb, sheep, goat, or camel to honor the sacrifice of Ibrahim (AS).
