How to activate globe roaming when abroad?

Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) left their families and friends to work in other countries to provide for them back home. Although living away from loved ones can be hard, OFWs continue to do what is necessary to make a better life for their families.

It can be hard being away from a loved one. Fortunately, there are many ways to stay connected, and communication is key. If you are using Globe and are curious about how to activate its roaming when abroad, then you are in the right place. In this blog, we will discuss the ways how to register for Globe roaming.

How to activate globe roaming when abroad?

Unlike past years when you need to register for roaming in your Globe number, this time you don’t need to worry about that. What I mean is Globe now automatically activates roaming on your number when you are abroad. Yes, you hear me right!

I’ve tried it myself. I tried texting GROAM ON to 2284. And here’s the reply: No need to register your number because prepaid roaming activation is now automatic! All you have to do is turn on your phone upon arrival abroad to receive a roaming signal. Remember to buy a prepaid load card before flying abroad to avoid the hassle of running out of load.

As mentioned, you only need to turn on your phone and choose a network from the lists of networks in the country you are in. For example in Saudi Arabia, you can choose either Mobily or STC. That’s it.

If you are going back to the Philippines, you don’t need to worry either about deactivating your roaming number because it’s also automatic. Your roaming will automatically be disabled.
