Who Can Take the Exam

Under Section 17 of Republic Act No. 10166, the Geology Profession Act of 2012, an applicant must be:

  • A graduate of a school recognized by the government with a Bachelor of Science in Geology, Bachelor of Science in Geological Engineering, Master of Science in Geology, or an equivalent degree
  • Of good moral character
  • Not convicted by a court of an offense involving moral turpitude

Section 26 of the same law exempts holders of a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Geology, or an equivalent degree in a specialized branch of geology, from the exam upon evaluation of the Board. They still register the same way as those who pass the exam.

What’s Next

The November 2026 exam runs from November 25 to 27, 2026. PRC targets the release of results on December 2, 2026, but because this is a computer-based exam and past results came out on the last exam day, the results may come out as early as November 27, 2026. We will publish the list of passers, topnotchers and performance of schools on newstogov.com once PRC releases them. PRC has not yet published its 2027 schedule of licensure examinations, so the exam date after November 2026 is not official yet.
