The Department of Education issues DepEd Order No. 003, s. 2024 or the Amendment to DepEd Order no. 22 s. 2023 (Implementing Guidelines on the School Calendar and Activities for the School Year 2023-2024).
Under the directives of DepEd Order No. 03, series of 2024, the Department of Education has scheduled the conclusion of the School Year 2023-2024 for May 31, 2024.
Consequently, the break at the end of the school year is slated from June 1 to July 26, 2024.
In alignment with this schedule, the Third Quarter Examinations are appointed for March 25-26, and the Fourth Quarter Examinations are planned for May 16-17, 2024.
Educational institutions are also advised to organize their End-of-School-Year (EOSY) Ceremonies between May 29 and May 31, 2024.
Furthermore, the Department has outlined dates for national events, which include:
- Palarong Pambansa from July 6 to July 17, 2024
- National Festival of Talents from July 9 to July 13, 2024
- National Schools Press Conference from July 9 to July 13, 2024
- Learners’ Convergence from July 9 to July 15, 2024
The order further stipulates a prohibition on assigning any voluntary or obligatory tasks to teachers from June 1 to June 30, 2024.
The forthcoming School Year 2024-2025 is set to commence on July 29 and conclude on May 16, 2025, with the Brigada Eskwela initiative kicking off a week prior to the new academic year’s start.
