Covid 19 Philippines: Covid 19 cases tally and deaths

As of March 24, 2020, 4 pm, the Department of Health reports 90 news cases of Covid 19 in the country. The total number of Covid 19 cases in the Philippines is now at 552.

The total number of deaths rose to 35. While the total of recovered patients is now 20. Luzon including the NCR has been under enhanced Community Quarantine starting March 17 until April 14, 2020.

President Rodrigo Duterte also declared a state of public health emergency in the country last March 9, 2020. Meanwhile, the DOLE releases Department Order 209 that offers financial support to affected workers in private establishments that have adopted FWAS or temporary closure during the COVID-19 pandemic.

7th Death- Patient 89

  • 67-year-old Filipino male from San Fernando, Pampanga
  • With travel history from the USA
  • Expired March 11, 2020, 8:50 PM
  • Cause of Death: Acute Respiratory Failure secondary to Pneumonia, Diabetes Mellitus, Hypertensive
  • Cardiovascular Disease, Chronic Kidney Disease secondary to Diabetic Nephropathy

8th Death- Patient 79

  • 68-year-old Filipino male from Makati City
  • No history of travel to foreign countries and no history of exposure 14 days prior to the onset of symptoms
  • Expired March 13, 2020, 3:25 a.m.
  • Cause of Death: Acute Respiratory Failure probably secondary to Community-acquired
  • Pneumonia-High-risk, Hypertensive Cardiovascular Disease

  • With travel history from USA and Korea
  • Expired March 14, 2020, 2:42 a.m.
  • Cause of Death: Multiple organ failure, Septic Shock, Acute respiratory Distress Syndrome,
  • Community-acquired Pneumonia-High-risk, COVID-19, Acute Kidney Injury, Chronic Kidney Disease,
  • Hypertension Type II, Diabetes Mellitus, Chronic Artery Disease

10th death- Patient 54

  • 40-year-old Filipino male from Pasig City
  • No history of travel to foreign countries and no history of exposure 14 days prior to the onset of symptoms
  • Expired March 15, 2020, 1:45 a.m.
  • Cause of Death: Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome, CAP, High-risk, COVID-19

11th death-Patient 39

  • 64-year-old Filipino male from Negros Oriental
  • Has a history of travel to Greenhills
  • Expired on March 15, 2020, 11:09 a.m.
  • Known case of Chronic Renal Disease; S/P Renal Transplant (2010)

12th death

  • A 56-year-old Filipino who began experiencing fever and cough on February 29, 2020.
  • He was admitted to Makati Medical Center on March 7, 2020, and was confirmed positive for COVID-19 on March 9, 2020.
  • He died on Sunday evening due to acute respiratory distress syndrome, secondary to COVID-19, and was reported to have pre-existing asthma.
