The Japanese Government’s Monbukagakusho: MEXT Scholarship for the Young Leaders’ Program (YLP) is now accepting applications for 2025.
It is a one-year Master’s Degree Program for Young Professionals. The program is open to young professionals interested in healthcare administration, law, government, local governance, or business administration.
This program aims to foster future national leaders in Asia and other regions, create a network among leaders, and improve policy planning in participating countries.
Selected applicants for the Young Leaders Program will receive a comprehensive scholarship package, which includes a monthly allowance of JPY 242,000 (approximately Php93,600), covering travel costs, education fees, and accommodations.
Criteria for Applicants:
- Filipino citizen
- Bachelor’s degree with excellent academic records
- Proficient in English
- Under 40 years old
- 2-5 years of work experience
Qualified applicants of the Young Leaders Program will have the opportunity to study at one of Japan’s esteemed universities, based on their chosen course. These institutions include:
- Nagoya University
- Hitotsubashi University ICS
- Kyushu University; and
- National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS).
