Updated October 20, 2026. Planning to get a voter’s certification or register as an overseas voter at a COMELEC office? Avoid Mondays. The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) will implement a work-from-home (WFH) arrangement every Monday from November 9, 2026 to March 29, 2027 in all its offices nationwide, in support of the government’s energy-saving directive.
What is changing?
During the implementation period, there will be no onsite or physical work on Mondays at all COMELEC offices nationwide, covering the main office in Manila and field offices. COMELEC said the measure supports the government’s directive to conserve energy, in unison with whole-of-government efforts during the National Energy Emergency.
Services not available on Mondays
- Processing and issuance of Voter Certification
- Onsite Overseas Voter Registration
When can I go to a COMELEC office?
COMELEC told reporters it will hold regular operations from Tuesday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., according to INQUIRER.net. COMELEC advises the public to plan their office visits early and to watch for announcements on its official social media channels.

This is not the first time: COMELEC also held work-from-home Mondays from April 6 to April 27, 2026 under Minute Resolution No. 26-0245, after the national energy emergency was declared.
