A new rule was approved by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas for the interbank transaction fees. The newly approved system will allow the bank that owns the ATM Terminal to set its own fees instead of the old system wherein the bank that issues the card is the one that sets the charge.
The charge for withdrawal in BDO, BPI, Metrobank, RCBC, and Union Bank is P18. While P2 for the Balance Inquiry. On the other hand, landbank interbank withdrawal will cost P10 and P1 for Interbank Balance inquiries.
However, if you are using your own bank, ATM Transactions will still be free. That’s why banks advised the public to use the ATMs of their own banks to avoid charges or use online banking which allows you to see your balance. You could also do transactions digitally like shopping, paying bills, etc.
