Mandatory use of Traze app by airport passengers fr Nov.28

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) announces that all airport passengers are required to download and register with the Traze app starting November 28, 2020, before entering the airport.

What is a Traze app?

Traze is a nationwide and unified contact tracing app that is co-developed by the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) and Cosmotech Philippines, Inc. With this application, the government will be able to strengthen and make their contact tracing effort more efficient.

The traze app make it possible for the contact tracing process to be done in just a few minutes. Aside from that, the data of people who will register will be secured since it complies with the Data Privacy Act (R.A 10173).

Some of its features include:

  • Uses QR Code scanning to trace the places and people you have been in contact with
  • Does not use Bluetooth or GPS
  • Has complete modules to trace individuals, establishments, logistics, transportation (train, vessel, airplane, jeepney, taxi, PUVs, tricycle)
  • App works with slow data or wifi

How to register to Traze contact tracing app?

Download the app on the google playstore or app store. After installing it to your mobile phone, click register button. Register as individual and input your details. Follow the instruction indicated in the app then activate your account.

Passengers who don’t have Smart Phones

For passengers without a mobile phone, they can go directly to Malasakit helpdesk at the Airport. They will provide assistance in getting a unique QR code for the passenger.
