DOH looking for Health Workers willing to work in COVID 19 referral hospitals

The Department of Health announces on Friday that they need more healthcare workers in the fight against COVID 19. On their Official Facebook page, they call on doctors, nurses, nurse assistants, and hospital orderlies who will heed the call to serve.

Health Worker Volunteers

The health workers will work in one of the three NCR COVID-19 referral hospitals. These include the Lung Center, Philippine General Hospital, and Dr. Jose N. Rodriguez Memorial Hospital. The voluntary work will last for a month. Food and accommodation will be provided by the DOH for the entire duration of your work.

Additionally, since the work will involve direct contact with COVID-19 patients, health workers will be given a Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to help reduce the risk of exposure.

Volunteers will undertake an 8-hour shift every day and will work for 14 consecutive days. Once complete, they will do a mandatory on-site quarantine for 14 days.

Health workers will receive an allowance of P500/ day which will be paid through Paymaya. DOH will also give insurance of cash compensation of P100,000 to public and private health workers who may contract the virus while on duty. Those health workers who will die will receive P1,000,000.
